1. William MURTAGH, son of William MURTAGH ( - ) and Mary STANLEY ( - ), was born in May 1824 in Castletown, Athboy, Co. Meath. He was baptised on 24 May 1824 in Athboy, Co Meath. The godparents were Thomas Leonard and Mary Duggan. He was a Farmer. He married Margaret TAAFFE on 2 February 1865 in Kells, Co. Meath. The witnesses were Cornelius Leonard and Kate Mulvaney. William died on 14 March 1879 in Kells. (Vol. 2, page 941, Jan-Mar, Kells).
Margaret TAAFFE, daughter of Nicholas TAAFFE (1817-1882) and Mary MEIGHAN ( - ), was born in 1841 in Co. Meath. She was baptised on 1 March 1841 in Kells. The Godparents were Hugh Sheridan and Catherine Lynch. According to 1901 census (March 31st), Margaret Murtagh lived in 2 Grattan Street, Dublin (a Tenement House). Her son Nicholas is residing in No 2 with her. According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Margaret is living on her own in No 2. The census also records that Margaret and William Murtagh had 6 children of which 3 were living in 1911. Margaret died on 6 April 1916 in Dublin at 73 years of age (Vol. 2, page 508). Margaret was buried on 9 April 1916 in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin (St Paul's - SB51) with her son (Thomas).

He was baptised on 21 July 1867 in Kells, Co. Meath. The godparents were James Mulvaney and Anne Taaffe. Thomas worked as a Shop Assistant in Leverett and Frye, 36 Grafton Street, Dublin. He married Sarah T BRADLEY on 6 September 1897 in St Michael's & John Church, Dublin. The witnesses were Nicholas Murtagh and Lizzy Clancy. The celebrant was Rev. Eugene MacCarthy (Vol. 2, page 664, Dublin South 1897). According to 1901 census (March 31st) Thomas (31) was living in 71 Dame Street, Dublin (beside the Empire Place Theatre (now Olympia Theatre) and above a shop). Living in the same building was Catherine Bradley (Sarah's mother) aged 50. According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Thomas was living in the two roomed flat in 2 Gratton Street, Dublin, the same building where his mother (Margaret Murtagh) was living. He died on 11 June 1913 in Dublin at 45 years of age and was buried on 13 June 1913 in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin (St Paul's - SB51).
Sarah T BRADLEY, daughter of Thomas BRADLEY (1843-1890) and Catherine TALBOT (1847-1930), was born on 16 January 1868 in Dublin. She lived in 1 Phibsboro Place, Dublin. According to the Family Bible, Sarah had 1 brother (John Joseph Bradley b. 26 Aug 1866 and d. 13 Nov 1891) and one sister (Mary Bradley b. 11 Sep 1871). According to the 1901 census (March 31st), Sarah (30) was living in 71 Dames Street, Dublin (beside the Empire Place Theatre (now the Olympia Theatre) and above a shop). Living in the same building was Catherine Bradley (Sarah's mother) who was 50 years of age. According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Sarah was living in the two roomed flat in 2 Gratton Street, Dublin, the same building where his mother (Margaret Murtagh) was living. According to Thom's Directory in 1933, Sarah T Murtagh became the registered owner of 27 Emorville Avenue, South Circular Road, Dublin. (Sarah's mother, Catherine Bradley was the owner of the house from 1925 until her death in 1930). Sarah lived in 27 Emorville Avenue with her daughter (Mary) and son (Thomas) until her death. Sarah was on Electoral Register in 1939. The Electoral Register 1939 - 40 shows Sarah T, Mary J, and Thomas G living in 27 Emorville Avenue, Dublin. Sarah died on 18 January 1954 in Dublin at 68 years of age. (Vol. 2, page 419) and was buried on 20 January 1954 in Glasnevin Cemetery (St. Brigid's - JH 205.5) with her parents (Thomas & Catherine Bradley) and her brother (John Joseph).

He was baptised on 25 March 1869 in the Parish of Kells. The godparents were Peter Taaffe and Kate Mulvaney. According to 1901 census (March 31st), Nicholas was living in 2 Gratton Street, Dublin with his mother (Margaret). His occupation is a Clock Maker. According to 1911 census (April 2nd), he is living but not residing with his mother.
3. Marianne MURTAGH, daughter of William MURTAGH (1824-1879) and Margaret TAAFFE (1841-1916), was born on 2 January 1871 in Chamberlands Town. She was baptised on 6 January 1871 in the Parish of Kells. The witnesses were Patrick Taaffe and Bridget Taaffe. Marianne died in 1871. (Vol. 12, page 523, Kells).
4. Bernard Charles MURTAGH, son of William MURTAGH (1824-1879) and Margaret TAAFFE (1841-1916), was born on 4 November 1872 in Chamberlands Town. (Vol. 17, page 806, Kells). Bernard was baptised on 5 November 1872 in the Parish of Kells. The godparents were James Taaffe and Catherine Taaffe.
5. Alicia MURTAGH, daughter of William MURTAGH (1824-1879) and Margaret TAAFFE (1841-1916), was born on 19 August 1874. (Vol. 12, page 851, Kells). Alicia was baptised in Girley, County Meath. The godparents were Thomas Kelly and Margaret Bellew.
6. James MURTAGH, son of William MURTAGH (1824-1879) and Margaret TAAFFE (1841-1916), was born on 17 September 1876. (Vol. 12, page 821, Kells). James was baptised in Girley. The godparents were Nicholas Taaffe and Kate Fagan. James married Jane DOGGETTE in 1907 (Vol. 2, page 799, Apr-Jun, Kells). According to 1911 census (April 2nd), James and Jane Murtagh are living in house No. 2 Julianstown, Posseckstown, Meath.
Jane DOGGETTE was born in 1890 (Vol. 2, page 363, Oct-Dec, Drogheda).

1. Margaret Mary MURTAGH, daughter of Thomas MURTAGH (1867-1913) and Sarah T BRADLEY (1868-1954), was born on 18 April 1899 in Dublin (Vol. 2, page 661). Margaret died on 25 March 1900 in Dublin at 11 months. She was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin (St Brigid's - JH205.5) with her grandfather (Thomas Bradley).
2. Mary Josephine MURTAGH, daughter of Thomas MURTAGH (1867-1913) and Sarah T BRADLEY (1868-1954), was born on 13 July 1901 in Dublin (Vol. 2, page 615). According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Mary was 9 years of age and living in 2 Grattan Street, Dublin. Later, Mary lived in 27 Emorville Avenue, South Circular Road, Dublin. According to the Electoral Register 1939 - 40, it shows Sarah T, Mary J, and Thomas G. as living in 27 Emorville Avenue, Dublin. According to the Electoral Register, Mary was registered from 1955 as living in 30 Curzon Street, South Circular Road, Dublin, a house owned by Bridie Opielinski. Mary died on 27 September 1975 in Marguerite Road, Glasnevin, Dublin at 74 years of age. She was buried on 30 September 1975 in Glasnevin Cemetery (St Brigid's - JH205.5) with her mother (Sarah) and grandparents (Thomas & Catherine Bradley).
3. Bernard Leo MURTAGH, son of Thomas MURTAGH (1867-1913) and Sarah T BRADLEY (1868-1954), was born on 4 September 1903 in Dublin. According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Bernard was 7 years of age and living in 2 Grattan Street, Dublin. Bernard married Elizabeth O'HARA in 24 Jun 1936 in St Paul's Church, Arran Quay, Dublin (Vol. 2, page 326, Apr-Jun). The witnesses were Thomas Murtagh and Mary Meehan. The celebrant was Rev. J.J. Flood. They lived in 168 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin and later in 33 Marguerite Road, Glasnevin, Dublin. Both Bernard and Elizabeth Eileen appeared in 1939-40 and 1940-41 on the Register as living at 168 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin. They appear on the Register in 33 Marguerite Road, Glasnevin, Dublin in 1941-42, 1942-43, 1943-44,1944-45, 1949-50, 1950-51, 1954-55, 1955-56, 1956-7. The 1962-63 Electoral Register listed Bernard, Elizabeth and Evelyn. Bernard died on 23 January 1983 in James Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin at 79 years of age. He was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery (St Brigid's - Si211).
Elizabeth Agnes O'HARA, daughter of Thomas O'HARA and Emily MEEHAN, was born in 1906. According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Elizabeth was 5 years of age and living in 22 Grangegorman, Upper (Arran Quay), Dublin. Elizabeth died on 5 August 1984 in James Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin. She was buried in Glasnevin Cemetery (St Brigid's - Si211) with her husband (Bernard).

John married Rebecca LADLEY on 26 November 1935 in St Audoen's Church, Dublin (Vol. 2, page 475, Oct-Dec, South Dublin). The witnesses were George Ladley and Mary Murtagh. The celebrant was Rev. Thomas J. Fallon. According to the Electoral Register 1949 - 51, John and Rebecca Murtagh were living in 27 Charleston Road, Kimmage, Dublin. The 1955-56, 1956-57 and 1962-63 show them living in 42 Chelmsford Road, Ranelagh, Dublin. John died on 28th May 1962 in James Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin at 56 years of age. He was buried on 30th May 1962 in Deans Grange Cemetery.
Rebecca LADLEY, daughter of William LADLEY and Susan [UNKNOWN] was born in 1904 in Dublin (Vol. 2, page 697, Jan-Mar). According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Rebecca was 7 years of age and living in 21.3 Donnybrook Road, Dublin. Rebecca died on 16th August 1995 in the Meath Hospital, Dublin at 91 years of age. She was buried on 18 August 1995 in Deans Grange Cemetery with his husband (John Joseph).
5. Thomas Gerard MURTAGH, son of Thomas MURTAGH (1867-1913) and Sarah T BRADLEY (1868-1954), was born on 11th January 1909 in Dublin (Vol. 2, page 463). According to 1911 census (April 2nd), Thomas was 2 years of age and living in 2 Grattan Street, Dublin. Thomas attended St Andrews Primary School and later CBS Westland Row. According to the Electoral Register 1939 - 40, it shows Sarah T, Mary J, and Thomas G as living in 27 Emorville Avenue, Dublin. Thomas married Mary Carmel HARRINGTON on 12th July 1948 in St. Michael's Church, Inchicore, Dublin (Vol. 2, page 929). The witnesses were John Joseph Murtagh and Eithne Harrington. The celebrant was Rev Bernard Brady. They lived in 27 Emorville Avenue, South Circular Road, Dublin and from 1954 in 31 Gledswood Park, Clonskeagh, Dublin. Thomas worked in Boland's Bakery for more than 50 years until his retirement in 1974. Thomas died on 4th May 1981 in Baggot Street Hospital, Dublin at 72 years of age. He was buried on 7th May 1981 in Deans Grange Cemetery (St Paul's).
Mary Carmel HARRINGTON, daughter of Daniel HARRINGTON (1885-1944) and Mary Ellen BYRNE (1882-1951), was born on 18th July 1913 in Lucan, Co. Dublin (Vol. 2, Page 371, Celbridge). Mary Carmel was baptised on 20th July 1913 in St. Mary's Church, Lucan, Co Dublin. The godparents were Thomas Donnelly and Alice Byrne. The celebrant was Rev William Hanley. She lived in 11 Sarsfield Terrace, Lucan and sometime after 1922 in 50 Ring Street, Inchicore, Dublin. She was on the Electoral Register in 1937. Carmel died on 27th August 2003 in Clonskeagh Hospital, Dublin at 90 years of age. Mary was buried on 30 August 2003 in Deans Grange Cemetery with her husband (Thomas).
